Job Description:
About the Role:We are seeking a proactive and experienced
Operations Safety Manager to join and adapt to our team. This role
is crucial in ensuring the safety of our operations, focusing on
transportation management and driver safety. The ideal candidate
will be passionate about promoting a culture of safety and have a
strong background in safety management within the transportation or
logistics industry.Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Management: Develop, implement, and monitor safety
protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with industry
standards and regulations. Continuously evaluate operational
practices to minimize risks and prevent accidents.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents or
near-misses, analyze root causes, and develop corrective actions to
prevent future occurrences. Maintain detailed records of incidents
and report findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Training & Development: Conduct safety training sessions for
employees, ensuring all team members are aware of safety protocols
and best practices. Develop and update training materials to
reflect current safety standards and procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations are compliant with
local, state, and federal safety regulations. Stay updated on
changes to safety laws and regulations, and adjust company policies
accordingly.
- Risk Assessment: Perform regular risk assessments to identify
potential hazards in the workplace. Implement control measures to
mitigate identified risks and improve overall safety
performance.Note: Candidates must reside within commuting distance
from the Fort Lauderdale area. Candidates currently residing in the
Fort Lauderdale/Miami area will be given priority
consideration.Qualifications:
- Proven experience in safety management, 3 plus years within a
large scale transportation or logistics industry business.
- Multi site -B2B or B2C business preferred.
- Experience in a fast paced start up a plus.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols, transportation management
systems, and driver safety management tools - Federal DOT
requirements.
- Knowledge of Dash Cam and GPS tracking systems (Rhino, Samsara,
Linxup).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and influence safety culture across an
organization.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to train and
mentor employees.
- Travel: This position requires up to 70% Travel.
