The Opportunity

Our client is a global equipment manufacturer who has hired us to seek out a Buyer for their Ft. Lauderdale, FL location.

This position is responsible for procurement and supplier development for production materials and components within assigned commodity categories.

Other responsibilities include:

Leading negotiations with suppliers and internal parties to achieve annual price reduction targets and other business objectives
Sourcing new components through RFQ preparation, analyzing quotations, and making supplier sourcing proposals aligned with category strategy
Supporting all aspects of supplier relationships including commercial, risk management, legal, quality, and delivery topics
Maintaining necessary items in ERP systems and archiving important purchasing documents

Qualifications include:

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field and/or 10+ years related purchasing experience
1-3 years experience in supply chain management or purchasing within manufacturing
Strong knowledge of contract strategy, negotiations, and supplier performance assessments
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Ability to travel 5-10% and adapt to a fast-paced environment
