Our client, a Global Medical Device Manufacture has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Engineer for a 12 Month + Contract opportunity. Ownership of supplier initiated change requests to ensure that adequate assessments are executed to minimize business impact and disruptions.
Responsibility for projects (value stream and cross functional) as assigned by the company, including the scoping, approval, budgeting, specification, execution, qualification and operational handover as appropriate.


Actively interfacing with cross-functional team members and 3rd party Vendors, and always practicing good team work in support of the day to day operating requirements, and in pursuit of achieving the business targets


Observing the Quality Management Systems requirements on site at all times

Key Responsibilities:



Validating and executing changes to the product line to ensure continuous improvement.
Specifying precise new product functional requirements, designing, testing, and integrating components to develop final designs, and evaluating effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
Designing, developing, executing, and evaluating fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans.
Creating and reviewing material part specifications and bills of materials to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Collaborating with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.
Assisting in the development of a global team proficient in process improvement and problem-solving manufacturing issues using Six Sigma tools.
Supporting line performance monitoring and compiling structured event plans to remediate systemic issues impacting performance.
Developing and implementing documentation, SOPs, and process work instructions compliant with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Owning supplier-initiated change requests and ensuring proper assessments to minimize business impact and disruptions.
Managing assigned projects, including scoping, approval, budgeting, execution, qualification, and operational handover.
Actively interfacing with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors, practicing teamwork to meet business targets.
Observing and adhering to Quality Management Systems requirements on site.
Supporting continuous monitoring and reporting of key business performance metrics while proactively identifying and resolving issues.
Managing and mitigating material risks on the production floor in collaboration with Quality Engineers.



Qualifications:



Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical experience required.
1-3+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or process improvement.
Detail-oriented process improvers who identify and implement opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate work processes.
Critical thinkers who naturally seek ways to optimize operations and solve complex problems.
Self-directed initiators who take ownership of their work and drive productivity, change, and results without needing prompting.
Dedicated achievers who thrive in fast-paced environments and are committed to ensuring projects are completed on time and meet regulations and expectations.
Collaborative partners who leverage cross-functional relationships to bring together ideas, data, and insights to drive continuous improvement.
Experience in the medical device industry or other regulated industries is preferred.
Experience working in a cross-functional team is a plus.
Experience managing suppliers is preferred.
