Job Description:
Common Threads seeks a highly motivated Senior Program Manager
(SPM) will lead the overall strategy, program implementation, and
relationship management across Miami and surrounding counties. In
addition, the SPM will build a foundation for sustainable growth
and successful program implementation, and ensure compliance and
engagement with local school systems, food systems, healthcare
institutions and local government. An ideal candidate would be an
expert in project management, partnership development, programming
for elementary, middle and high school students, and quality
assurance. Additionally, they are responsible for coaching local
teams in their market(s) and providing a positive team culture
focused on learning, understanding, and growth.This role is
full-time and non-exempt, with direct reporting to the Director of
Programs & Partnerships located in Dallas, TX. This position is
fully a remote work model. Regular local travel to school and
community partner sites is expected, with occasional travel outside
of Miami.Responsibilities:Program Management
- Manage school, healthcare, and community-based program partner
relationships in Miami-Dade.
- Recruit new schools and kitchens for partnerships per market
growth goals.
- Work with school administration and teachers to schedule and
implement programs.
- Lead partnership planning and implementation with local
healthcare institutions to bring food as medicine programs to
Miami.
- Coordinate and facilitate special events at schools,
community-based organizations, and other fundraising events
representing and being an advocate for Common Threads.
- Manage specific program pieces such as rosters, curriculum,
generate quarterly and annual grant reports detailing grant
progress and achievements.
- Establish and execute programmatic goals for the market by
managing key partners, stewarding relationships, and appropriately
documenting in Salesforce (CRM).Team Management
- Manage the Miami team to ensure a strong team culture.
- Supervise and coach program managers/coordinators and Chef
Instructors in assigned market(s) and report to the Director of
Programs & Partnerships on progress toward implementation and
strategic market goals in managed markets.
- Lead hiring for all Miami Program team positions, as
needed.
- Carry out regular check-in meetings to ensure the team(s) are
meeting program quality metrics.
- Manage communications to program staff, main contacts, and
volunteers to provide them with clear expectations and to assure
that classes run as scheduled.Work in collaboration with Research &
Evaluation Efforts to Provide Comprehensive Program Evaluation
- Conduct in-person observations to assess the fidelity of
program implementation and adherence to the curriculum.
- Oversee data collection, including the administration of both
pre-and post-surveys, as well as consent forms, assent forms,
attendance rosters, and other data collection tools as needed.
- Lead and ensure accurate and timely compliance reporting.
- Oversee and support evaluation efforts in the Miami
Market.Partnership Development
- Build and maintain relationships with schools and
community-based organizations, healthcare institutions and local
food access organizations as part of our focus on Policy, Systems,
and Environment.
- Support the development team and leadership team in developing
proposals and drafting budgets.
- Coordinate and facilitate special events at schools,
community-based organizations, and other fundraising events
representing and being an advocate for Common Threads.
- Support planning process for meeting partnership development
goals and targets.
- Lead cross-functional national impact projects that drive
program improvement and innovation based on available data,
feedback, and lessons learned.
- Increase brand awareness of Common Threads and represent CT at
community and district events/meetings.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, master's degree in a relevant field
(Public Health, Nutrition) a plus.
- Knowledge of nutrition, cooking, food access and understanding
of healthcare settings preferred.
- 3-5+ years' experience in nonprofit organizations.
- 2-3+ years' experience with direct staff management and
supervision of staff.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Experience working with culturally diverse audiences.
- Comfortable using written tools for assessing readiness,
partner needs, and quality of programs.
- Strong organizational, time management, and logical thinking
skills; must be task-oriented.
- Possess positive, upbeat energy and a passion for wellness,
food access, equity, and making a positive impact on society.
- Strong skills in written & verbal communication and adapting
role and communication style depending on the task.
- Must have access to car/public transportation and willing to
travel locally as needed in Miami-Dade County.
- Ability to work within a mission-driven environment to develop
professional and respectful relationships with people both internal
and external to Common Threads.
- Ability to work independently and remotely with confidence and
outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook,
and Google Drive documents. Experience with other software,
including Salesforce, Slack and Asana, a plus.
- Experience working with external stakeholders, including donors
and board members a plus.Additional Information:

- Regular travel is required for business purposes, and employees
will be compensated for mileage incurred during official travel.
Reimbursement is for the use of a personal vehicle or public
