is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the development
and implementation of cloud technologies, specifically focusing on
Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role is pivotal
in defining the principles, patterns, and best practices that will
enable the wider technology organization to adopt secure, scalable,
and resilient cloud solutions.Your Responsibilities on the Team
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead and manage individuals and
teams, including first-line managers or supervisors. Allocate
responsibilities and delegate tasks as appropriate, providing
guidance and support to ensure successful outcomes.
- Talent Development: Oversee staffing, talent identification,
performance management, and associate development processes within
the cloud platform function. Foster a collaborative and effective
working environment.
- Strategic Alignment: Align the objectives of the cloud platform
function with the overall company strategy. Establish and cascade
goals and priorities across the team, ensuring alignment with
organizational goals.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with key stakeholders,
including technology leaders and engineers, to ensure clear
priorities and reduce backlogs. Collaborate with strategic partners
to develop and implement prioritization criteria that support the
most valuable portfolio work.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across functions to ensure
collaboration on shared goals and influence improvements in complex
business and IT processes. Drive enhancements that contribute to
overall company performance.
- Cloud Strategy Development: Create strategies to guide the
consumption of cloud services, including Platform as a Service
(PaaS), Container as a Service (CaaS), Infrastructure as a Service
(IaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS), in accordance with
security architectures and frameworks.
- Governance and Risk Management: Establish governance frameworks
for the secure consumption of cloud resources, ensuring compliance
with security standards and regulatory obligations. Participate as
a liaison between technology, security, and audit for cloud-related
activities.
- Operationalization of Cloud Assets: Develop strategies for
operationalizing cloud-deployed assets, including monitoring, asset
management, and incident response. Create patterns and best
practices for effective cloud operations.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Advocacy: Promote and guide the
establishment of an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) mindset within the
organization. Influence the organizational model to support this
approach.
- Advisory and Decision-Making: Advise on options, risks, and the
impact of changes in the business to ensure long-term
sustainability. Challenge the status quo and support continuous
improvement by implementing industry best practices.Technical
Skills:
- Cloud Transformation: Extensive experience in transforming
cloud strategies and operationalizing their execution with
governance and security considerations.
- Multi-Cloud Strategy: Expertise in workload placement within a
multi-cloud environment, with a focus on well-architected framework
reviews.
- Ambiguity Management: Ability to navigate ambiguity and
independently drive the resolution of complex issues and
challenges.
- IT Services Management: Proven track record in managing complex
IT services and providing technical leadership to IT operations.
Ensure defined metrics, procedures, and service levels are
met.
- Performance Monitoring: Proactively evaluate key systems within
the assigned area, develop improvements, and implement tools and
techniques for monitoring and managing performance. Take corrective
action as necessary.Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in cloud platform,
IT services management, or a related field.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology,
Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Relevant
certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified
Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.Additional Skills:
